I met this beautiful English couple, Francesca & Daniel, back in 2018 when they came to Lake Como to look at some venues. I loved them instantly and knew exactly the perfect villa for them.
When I showed them Villa Regina Teodolinda, I knew that it would take their breath away. An enchanted venue, perfect for an intimate, romantic & elegant wedding; just what they were after.
Fran & Dan chose Villa Regina Teodolinda in Laglio, Lake Como for their beautiful, romantic and intimate wedding. Laglio is a very small town and it is where George Clooney has his house. All the guests stayed in Como, as there is a larger selection of hotels there and we organised a private boat as their mode of transport. Arriving and departing by boat is always the best transport mode in Lake Como plus such a dreamy journey that really adds that special element that all the guests will always remember.
Francesca instead stayed at the Villa with all her family member. The suites are sophisticated and elegant and accommodate up to 21 guests. It is ideal for Destination weddings were all the close family can stay under one roof.
After the ceremony, the waiters served some bubbly prosecco to everyone and the couple with their guests enjoyed an Italian aperitif . The aperitif had a seclection of the best local cheeses, hams, focaccia and of course lots of alcohol. Aperol Spritz in a Lake Como Wedding is always a must!
The reception was held in the romantic and elegant terrace of the villa, facing the gorgeous view of the lake. Fairy lights , candle lit dinner and the twinkle lights reflecting on the lake really added a magical atmosphere.

Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony was held on the lower terrace, on the garden, facing the stunning view of the lake. The melody of an harp and a violin gently accompanied all the guests to their seats. She walked down the aisle to the song Can’t help falling in love by – Haley Reinhart.
It was a simple ceremony setting – parigina chairs and twowhite urns filled with pink o’hara garden roses, sweet avalance roses , white dolomiti roses, gypsophilia & white veronica. Perfectly framing them while they exchange their vows The sun was shining and everything was just absolutely perfect!
Wedding Reception
Villa Regina TeodolindaThe dinner reception was held outdoors on the terrace facing the lake.
The terrace of this venue is gorgeous as it has two big trees with fairylights that really add a magical and romantic atmpsphere. They were in total around 40 guests and decided to have a long imperial table. The table was filled with candles and a greenery garland composed of olive and euchalipthus leaves. The bride wanted a simple, romantic & Italian look and therefore we designed a modern menu and together with the couples we chose a simple, elegant mise en place.Rosemary was placed on each napkin to have that rustic Italian but at the same time elegant look.
The wedding cake was the Italian traditonal cake perfect for a Destination wedding in Lake Como, Italy.
Dancing was the indoors of the villa. A very shabby chic, elegant villa with their gorgeous chandelliers and painted walls. We hired lots of uplights to create the perfect lighting and ambiance for a good party!

Hi Zaira! I hope this email finds you and the family well. How are things over in Lombardy? It looks like the UK is a few weeks behind Italy and whilst things are getting worse here, I'm hoping that the situation starts improving for you over there. I hope you, Nick and the kids are staying safe and happy. It's a worrying time for everyone but one positive is that not being at work and being held hostage in your own home gives me chance to do a few things that I've been wanting to do for quite a while! One of those things is to thank you. Thank you for helping us to celebrate our marriage in the most perfect way and for giving us a wedding that we will never forget. From the moment we met you (and Nick!) in Bellagio, your warmth, kindness and understanding made the whole experience unbelievably amazing. Every time we came back to Italy, we fell in love with it a little bit more. And that was partly down to people like you who made our time there so special. Fran and I still regularly talk about the day and still get choked up remembering how incredible it was. We count ourselves the luckiest couple in the world and whenever we look back at the photos, we can't believe that we married in such a perfect place. All your help, advice and support meant that I had the best day of my life, and more importantly Fran had the wedding day that she has probably dreamt of since a little girl. And the wedding day she deserved. We were hoping to come back to visit Lake Como this year but obviously our plans have had to change. We are desperate to come back as soon as things get back to normal and we hope we can meet up with you for an Aperol or two... they just don't taste the same over here! Where do we begin! From the moment we first made contact with Zaira, we knew that she would be the wedding planner for us. She made sure every attention to detail didn't go missed and truly helped to plan the day of our dreams! We really felt like we could ask and talk to her about anything and it wasn't too much trouble. Zaira became a key part of our special day, and we honestly can't recommend her enough. We already can't wait to go back to Como to meet up with her next year xxx
